#FreshmanFriday hits the midway point, as today we put the spotlight on forward Elodie Lalotte (Garden Grove, Calif. / Orangewood Academy).
Boise State graduates six seniors in 2019-20 who made up one of the most decorated classes in program history. Along with the seven returning Broncos, Boise State will welcome a decorated seven-woman freshman class to the City of Trees in 2020-21. The motivated, hungry group boasts numerous all-state and all-section honors, league MVP awards, and team titles at the state, section, and league levels.
The Bronco staff is excited to have Lalotte join the program, feeling she has only begun to tap into her natural talent.
"Elodie has a gigantic upside. She's very athletic, and is just scratching the surface," Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell said back during the November signing period. "She's only played one season of high school ball, so we really feel that she has a great chance to be a great player."
Lalotte blossomed in her second prep season in 2019-20, leading Orangewood Academy to the CIF Southern Section 2AA title. After sitting out the 2018-19 campaign due to transfer rules, Lalotte went from averaging 9.2 points and 9.2 rebounds over 25 games as a sophomore at JSerra Catholic to averaging a double-double in her final season at Orangewood Academy.
Besides leading the Spartans to the CIF SS 2AA title, and to the second round of the CIF Division I state tournament, Lalotte, who moved to the United States from France ahead of her prep career, compiled a haul of individual honors, being named to the All-CIF Southern Section 2AA First Team, the Orange County Register's All-Orange County First Team, and to the All-San Joaquin League First Team.
