Brian Humphreys in Top Five After First Round of Washington State Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Boise State's Brian Humphreys shot a 2-under 70 in the first round of the Washington State Amateur, Tuesday.
The Vancouver, Wash., native was solid throughout the day with four birdies, 12 pars, and two bogeys at Chambers Bay Golf Course.
He is tied for fourth place in the 120-player field. Sean Kato of Redmond, Wash., leads the tournament after a 7-under 65.
Humphreys made three of his four birdies on the back nine, including one on the par-5 18th hole. He will tee off in Tuesday's second round at 1:50 p.m. Mountain Time.
Last month, Humphreys finished third at the Idaho State Amateur. He is slated to return as a fifth-year senior for the Broncos in 2020-21.
