Brian Humphreys Moves Up the Leaderboard at Washington State Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Boise State's Brian Humphreys fired a 3-under 69 in the second round of the Washington State Amateur, Wednesday and is in second place with 18 holes to play.
Humphreys (-5) trails Sean Kato of Redmond, Wash., by five strokes at Chambers Bay Golf Course.
After a bogey on No. 3, Humphreys made birdies on No. 4 and No. 5 and added another on No. 8 to make the turn at 2-under.
Humphreys posted a birdie on No. 11, but it was offset by a bogey on No. 16. He closed strong for the second-straight day with a birdie on No. 18.
Kato and Humphreys are each in the final group, which tees off at 11:50 a.m. Mountain Time, Wednesday.
