Broncos Head to Tucson for 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship

WHAT'S NEXT: For the final time, Boise State will compete in the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men's Golf Championship. Spanning three days, beginning Sunday, May 3, the event takes place at Omni Tucson National Resort on the Catalina Course.

COURSE LAYOUT: Recognized as one of Golf Digest's "75 Best Golf Resorts in North America," the Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Resort is par-72 and 7,194 yards.

FORMAT / TEE TIMES: Featuring all 12 Mountain West institutions, each team will play 18 holes on three-consecutive days in a five-count-four format. Beginning at 8 a.m. MT from Sunday-Tuesday, the tournament consists of split tee times on holes 1 and 10.

PAST RESULTS: Entering the 2026 Mountain West Men's Golf Championship, Boise State is seeking its first team title. Having competed in the tournament 13 times, the Broncos' highest finish was third in 2017. Under head coach David Trainor, the team has finished eighth (2023), ninth (2024 and seventh (2025).

INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS: Since joining the Mountain West in 2011, there have been two Boise State men's golfers who have captured the individual championship in the conference tournament. Brian Humphreys shot a 12-under 204 in 2017, while Cole Rueck fired a 7-under 209 in 2024.

ENDING ON A HIGH NOTE: The Broncos last competed in the third-annual Battle for Idaho, defeating in-state rival University of Idaho by 16 strokes in the two-team duel. Gavyn Knight won the individual championship, carding an 8-under 205 across the 54 holes.

2025-26 SEASON: Ranked 128th in the country (according to SCOREBOARD), Boise State posted an 82-70-3 record during its fall and spring seasons. The Broncos won two team titles, two individual championships and had three top-three finishes.
