Broncos Finish Strong in Win over Cowgirls

BOISE, Idaho – Jade Loville scored a game-high 22 points and Boise State completed a two-game sweep of Wyoming with a 68-62 victory at ExtraMile Arena, Wednesday.
With the Broncos (8-1, 5-1 Mountain West) trailing 57-56, Loville made a pair of free throws at the 2:36 mark of the fourth quarter for the sixth tie and ninth lead change of the game.
Boise State forced turnovers by Wyoming (4-5, 2-4) on the Cowgirls' next two possessions and Anna Ostlie made a floater in the lane with just over a minute left to give the Broncos a 60-57 lead.
Boise State sealed its victory making 8 of 10 free throws in the game's final 30 seconds.
"Jade Loville made big shots and Anna (Ostlie) hit a big tear dropper that was a separation for us," Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell said. "We hit free throws. I am proud of our team and pleased."
The Broncos trailed 14-10 after the first quarter before outscoring Wyoming 22-12 in the second quarter to lead 32-26 at intermission. Seven Broncos scored in the second stanza.
Boise State led by as many as seven in the third quarter, but Wyoming rallied to take a 44-42 lead with under three minutes remaining in the third quarter. A basket by Ostlie and two free throws from Mallory McGwire regained the lead for the Broncos heading into the fourth quarter.
Alexis Mark scored 12 points and tied her season/career-high eight with eight rebounds. McGwire added nine points and eight boards in 26 minutes.
The Broncos have a full week off from game action. Boise State is scheduled to play at Fresno State, Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. Mountain.
