LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Hugo Townsend (74-67-68—209) shot 4-under in the final round to take third place at the Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club.
Boise State (292-286-289—867) shot 3-over as a team and finished the tournament in fourth place. Host-school Little Rock won the tournament, shooting 18-under.
"We knew we'd get tested out here given the different grass, different time zone and challenging venue," said head coach Dan Potter. "We played poorly, but hopefully this will be a growth opportunity for us. We need to get better at playing in unfamiliar conditions, and that was obvious this week."
Townsend was the top finisher for the Broncos for the second tournament in a row as he notched his second top-five finish in as many competitions. The Swede is now tied with David Lebeck for fifth all time in top-10 finishes in program history with 10.
Max Charles (73-71-74—218) shot two eagles in the tournament and finished tied for 15th, his third top-25 finish of the season. Skyler Eubank (74-72-73—219) was the third Bronco in the top-25 as he finished tied for 23rd. Eubank has now played 116 rounds for the Blue and Orange, the fifth most rounds played in program history.
Joe Neuheisel (71-77-74—222) finished tied for 47th, and Nick Hedman (75-76-81—232) finished tied for 79th to round out the lineup for Boise State.
Up next for Boise State is a trip to Hawaii for the Ka'anapali Intercollegiate at Ka'anapali Royal Golf Course, Oct. 29-31. That tournament will be the last of the fall slate for the Broncos.
