BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced the hiring of Nathan Burk as the Broncos' Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Thursday.

Burk will oversee the Broncos' compliance office and serve on the department's senior leadership team, in addition to managing the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs as primary sport administrator.

"I am excited to add Nathan to our senior management team," Dickey said. "He is a leader, has extensive experience in collegiate athletics and his blue-collar, team-first mentality will fit in well with our department. I am looking forward to getting Nathan, Jen and their four children - Brynlee (11), Hudson (9), Olivia (6) and Madison (2) - to Boise."

Burk had spent the previous four years as the senior associate athletic director for compliance and administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he assisted with the executive leadership and strategic planning of the Vaqueros' athletics department. In addition to the compliance office, Burk also oversaw the department's strength and conditioning and sports medicine staffs, and was the sport program administrator for men's and women's tennis.

"I'd like to first thank director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey and the members of the search committee for affording me this opportunity to join the Boise State Athletics Department," Burk said. "Throughout this process I was taken in by the passion of everyone I met with at Boise State. The love, pride and excitement they demonstrate for their University and their city is inspiring. I look forward to building upon the incredible foundation that has been established in Boise and working together as a campus community to discover what's next for the Broncos."

Prior to joining the staff at UT Rio Grande Valley, Burk served as the director of compliance at BYU for more than three years. He oversaw all aspects of compliance for the Cougars' football, softball and men's and women's golf and tennis programs. He also worked to educate student-athletes, coaches, staff, and boosters about institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.

Burk joined the BYU staff from Utah, where he served as the assistant director of compliance for two years. In that role, he oversaw all recruiting activities, assisted with all waivers, investigations and interpretation requests, and was involved in other compliance affairs for student-athletes, coaches and staff.

Burk began his career as a compliance intern at American University during the 2011-12 academic year.

Originally from Farmington, Utah, Burk earned his Juris doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law in 2012, his bachelor's in French from Utah in 2008 and an associate's degree from Dixie State in 2006.

Burk's start date is scheduled for Oct. 29, 2021.
