30,000 Fans Witness Action-Packed Event on The Blue at Albertsons Stadium in Boise
BOISE, Idaho – On Saturday night, June 6, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live™ roared onto Lyle Smith Field in Albertsons Stadium, a.k.a. The Blue, for its first-ever U.S. outdoor stadium show. The sold-out crowd of 30,002 included fans and attendees from 48 states, Washington, D.C., and seven countries who traveled to see 15 iconic Hot Wheels Monster Trucks on the famous blue turf, along with jaw-dropping stunts from the freestyle motocross (FMX) team. Former Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, returned to Albertsons Stadium for a mid-show cameo driving "Smashton Jeanty," the all-new blue and orange, Bronco-themed monster truck created exclusively for Boise State fans.
Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live™, which won the 2025 Pollstar Family Show of the Year award, featured a lineup including the legendary Bigfoot® and fan favorites Mega Wrex™, Tiger Shark™, Skelesaurus, Bone Shaker™, Rhinomite, and HW 5-Alarm™ as well as two transforming and fire-breathing robots: Arcticgon and Megasauraus.
Transforming Albertsons Stadium into a monster truck arena required a massive undertaking. To protect The Blue, crews spent approximately 12 hours covering the field with 112,500 square feet of geotextile fabric and 2,550 sheets of plywood before bringing in 2,800 cubic yards of dirt delivered by 234 truckloads. Ten pieces of heavy equipment were used to build the custom competition floor that served as the foundation for the night's racing, stunts, and freestyle action.
"The Blue has long been one of the most iconic venues in sports, and bringing Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live there was an opportunity unlike any other," said Ken Hudgens, CEO of Family Entertainment Live. "From the moment the gates opened, the atmosphere was electric. The fans, the trucks, the stunts, and THE BLUE all came together to create a truly historic night for our tour."
"The night was EPIC and lived up to our plan to host more family-friendly entertainment for Bronco Nation and the Treasure Valley, and we are just getting started," said Nathan Burk, chief operating officer, Boise State Sports and Entertainment Group.
The Boise event represented months of planning and one of the most ambitious builds ever undertaken by the production. It also marked the largest single-day Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live show ever staged in the U.S.
