ABOUT TEMPLE: The Owls are 1-2 this season after falling to Clemson, 75-48, in the first round of the Charleston Classic. Khalif Battle leads the team in scoring at 17.3 points per game, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range. The Owls average six blocks per game and outrebound their opponents by 5.3 boards per game. Temple has been to the NCAA Â Tournament or the NIT in 33 of the last 38 seasons.
SERIES HISTORY: Boise State and Temple have never met in men's basketball. This marks the third straight season the Broncos have faced a team from the American Athletic Conference in the regular season. Boise State is also slated to host AAC-member Tulsa later this season (Dec. 3).
PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF: Redshirt senior guard Emmanuel Akot poured in a career-high 24 points Thursday, against St. Bonaventure, his third-straight game in double figures to start the season. Akot has reached double figures in Boise State's last seven outings, including the final four games last season. He has hit double digits 13 times as a Bronco.
GOOD FROM DEEP: Emmanuel Akot made a career-high six three-pointers in the tournament opener against St. Bonaventure. Akot was 6-for-9 from deep. Akot's six triples are the most by a Bronco in the six ESPN-owned multi-team events Boise State has participated in during Leon Rice's tenure as head coach. The six three-pointers match the most by a Bronco since Justinian Jessup made seven on Dec. 7, 2019, against Colorado State.
