GAME ONE RECAP: RayJ Dennis' long three-pointer rolled around the rim before curling out as the buzzer sounded on a 74-72 Nevada win, Friday. The game featured eight ties, seven lead changes and never a lead larger than six points by either team. With the game tied at 72, Wolf Pack guard Grant Sherfield maneuvered into the lane and knocked down a turnaround jumper with 2.9 seconds to play. Marcus Shaver, Jr. took the inbound pass and raced up the floor, finding Dennis along the right wing. The sophomore stepped into a 30-footer and drew every ounce of iron, but not the net.

CONSISTENT SCORER: Derrick Alston, Jr. has scored at least 20 points in nine of 17 games this season. Alston is one of 23 players in the country with at least nine 20-point games this season. He has eclipsed 20 points 31 times in his career, all coming in the last three seasons. He is tied with Derrick Marks for the second-most 20-point games by a Bronco during Leon Rice's 11 seasons as head coach, trailing only Anthony Drmic's 38 games. Alston is one of 12 active players nationally to score 20 points at least 31 times since the start of the 2018-19 season.

AKOT IN THE MIX: Emmanuel Akot scored a career-high 19 points Friday, including a career-best four three-pointers. Akot is the seventh different Bronco to score at least 19 points in a game this season, tied for the most in the country this season (Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia, Jacksonville State and Western Carolina).

ANALYZE AND RESPOND: Boise State has not lost consecutive games for more than a year. The last time the Broncos dropped back-to-back contests was January 2020, at San Diego State and at Air Force.
