FINAL RESULTS
HURRICANE, Utah – Junior Lexi Perry led the Boise State women's golf team at the weather-shortened BYU Spring Classic, Tuesday. The field played two rounds Monday, but the final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
Perry registered her second top-25 effort of the season, finishing tied for 12th after posting back-to-back rounds of 74 (148, +4) at the Sand Hollow Golf Course. She also finished tied for 10th at the season-opening Valley Invitational, Feb. 8-9.
"The conditions were really tough yesterday, and we had a hard time adjusting to the wind and the greens," head coach Nicole Bird said. "It's unfortunate that we don't get to play today because I felt like we could have jumped up the leaderboard with a solid round. It shows we need to start stronger because we never know what might happen."
The Broncos recorded consecutive rounds of 303 (+15) Monday, concluding the day in seventh place, just six strokes back of the top three.
Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were sophomore Cora Mickelsen (78-75—153, +9), junior Nicole Suppelsa (82-73—155, +11), freshman Emma Yang (75-81—156, +12) and freshman Elli Gordon (76-85—161, +17).
The Broncos will return to action April 5-6, at the Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz., the final tournament of the regular season before the Mountain West Championships (April 20-21).
