THE MEET
The Boise State gymnastics team, ranked No. 19 in this week's edition of Road to Nationals, will travel to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah, for the 2021 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships, set for Saturday, March 20. The Broncos, No. 12 BYU, No. 20 Southern Utah and No. 21 Utah State are slated to begin the meet at 6 p.m.

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Prior to the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boise State had won each of the five previous MRGC Championships from 2015-19, the longest streak of championships for a Bronco athletic program since the football team also won five-straight titles in the Western Athletic Conference from 2002-06.

IN THE RANKINGS
Boise State checks in at No. 19 in Road to Nationals this week (196.706), the program's ninth-consecutive week in the top 25. The Broncos are led by their bars line-up, which ranks tied for 11th nationally (49.338). The floor (49.344) and vault (49.081) line-ups are also ranked in the national top 25, checking in at No. 17 and tied for 24th, respectively. The beam line-up is 27th in the country (49.138).

Individually, senior Emily Muhlenhaupt ranks fourth nationally on bars (9.950), a mark that leads the MRGC. Also on bars, Emily Lopez ranks tied for second in the conference and tied for 27th nationally (9.900). Freshman Courtney Blackson leads the Broncos on vault (9.850), ranking tied for fifth in the MRGC and tied for 80th nationally, while sophomore Adriana Popp leads the Broncos on both beam (9.869) and floor (9.906). Popp's beam mark ranks tied for ninth in the conference and tied for 86th nationally, while her floor score ranks fourth in the MRGC and tied for 38th nationally.

STACKING TOP 25 WINS
Through the course of nine regular-season meets, Boise State racked up six wins over top-25 opponents. This past week Boise State upset No. 10 Arizona State, the highest-ranked team the Broncos have defeated since knocking off eighth-ranked Washington, March 15, 2018 (197.000-196.950). Boise State also earned victories over No. 13 Oregon State (Jan. 15), No. 14 BYU (Jan. 23) and No. 16 Southern Utah (Feb. 27), and a pair of wins over Utah State – at home, Feb. 6 (No. 23) and on the road, Feb. 13 (No. 21).

AGAINST THE MRGC
The Broncos went 4-2 against the MRGC this season, sweeping Utah State, and winning home meets against both Southern Utah and BYU. The Broncos dropped each of the road meets against the Cougars and Thunderbirds.

AGAINST THE PAC-12
Boise State went 4-0 against the Pac-12 this season, defeating then-No. 13 Oregon State in the 2021 opener in Corvallis, Ore., Jan. 15, both Washington and Stanford in a tri-meet (March 7) and then No. 10 Arizona State to close the regular season (March 12). This is the first time the Broncos have defeated four Pac-12 schools during the regular season since 1997, when Boise State knocked off Arizona, Arizona State, California and Washington.

Senior Emily Muhlenhaupt has registered five MRGC Bars Specialist of the Week honors in 2021, while redshirt senior Maddi Nilson and sophomore Adriana Popp each have a pair of MRGC Floor Specialist of the Week accolades.
