Boise State Comes Up Short at Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Boise State volleyball dropped a tough 3-1 decision at Colorado State on Thursday night. The Broncos found themselves down early losing the first set forcing them to play from behind the rest of the way as the Rams won the first, third and fourth sets. The loss moved Boise State to 10-4 overall with a match at Air Force on the slate for Saturday.
The Broncos had their chances as they rallied from 21-17 down in the fourth period with a 6-0 run to take a 23-21 lead. Boise State had set point at 24-23 and 25-24, but could not put the set away as CSU rallied scoring three straight to close out the match 25-19, 16-25, 25-22 and 27-25.Â
Lauren Ohlinger led Boise State with a team-high 15 kills to go with two service aces and three blocks. Jessica Donahue followed hitting a team-high .381 for 11 kills with three service aces and five blocks.
No other Broncos reached double-figure kills, as Shae Duffy added seven kills and three blocks. Annie Kaminski chipped in with six kills and a team and career-high eight blocks.Â
Danielle Boss was steady as usual recording her team-leading ninth double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs to go with four kills, one ace and four blocks. Allison Casillas led the defensive effort with a team-best 17 digs.Â
