UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Led by a final round 70 by Hugo Townsend, Boise State men's golf earned a sixth-place finish at the Redhawk Invitational hosted by SeattleU.

The Broncos shot rounds of 285, 285, 292 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 862 (+6).

"Overall team finish wasn't what we were looking for," said head coach Dan Potter. "We missed some shots which will happen but we also let our guard down too easily. We have a mature group of players but we were as sloppy emotionally this week as we've been all year."

Townsend and Skyler Eubank led the way for the Broncos after the first two rounds thanks to 1-under performances that had them tied for eighth.

Townsend utilized a 4-under 67 in round two, including four back-nine birdies to leap back into contention at the end of day one. His final round 70 ensures he extends his streak of top-10 finishes to three with a tie for sixth.

"Hugo has a skill set to get in contention consistently. He wasn't going on all cylinders this event but still had a nice finish," said Potter.

Eubank (70-71-71-213) who finished tied for eighth stayed consistent throughout the tournament finishing 1-under and garnering his second top 10 in as many tournaments.

"Skyler has looked good the last two events," said Potter. "He's fought some injuries at times but he's been healthy now all fall and into the season and his consistency is reflecting it."

Joe Neuheisel played well in his opening round with four birdies and played the front nine at 2-under to finish the day at even-par en route to a 38-place finish in the tournament.

Josh Gliege (71, 74, 73) finish tied for 31st at 5-over. Brian Humphreys (73, 73, 73) closed the tournament tied for 39th.

San Francisco, ranked 29th nationally, ran away with the 15-team tournament at 14-under, seven shots ahead of second-place No. 61 Washington. No. 75 Utah (E), Saint Mary's (+1) and Fresno State (+4) rounded out the top five.

The Broncos return to action April 12-13 in Santa Barbara, Calif., for the UCSB Invitational, April 12-13.
