BOISE, Idaho – College of Southern Idaho All-American Kaitlin Burgess signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's basketball at Boise State, head coach Gordy Presnell announced [Wednesday]. Fresh off guiding the Golden Eagles to a Scenic West Athletic Conference title, Region 18 Championship crown and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament, Burgess will arrive at Boise State as a junior.

"We are excited to have Kaitlin join the Broncos," Presnell said. "She was one of the top three-point shooters in the country at CSI, and will help us stretch opposing defenses. She is a high-character person and fits perfectly to the type of student-athlete we want representing Boise State!"

Burgess led CSI in scoring as a sophomore, earning NJCAA All-America Third Team accolades to go with her All-Region 18 First Team selection and Region 18 Tournament MVP honor. She is the first NJCAA All-American to sign with the Broncos since 2012.

Burgess averaged 13.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a sophomore, while shooting 47.6 percent from three-point range on 4.3 attempts per game.

The tournament MVP honor came after averaging 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists across two games. Burgess made 7-of-12 three-point attempts in the tournament, including four triples in a 22-point outburst in the semifinal.

For the season, Burgess led the Golden Eagles in scoring 11 times, including five 20-point games.

As a freshman during the 2019-20 campaign, Burgess helped CSI to a 22-9 record. She appeared in 21 games, averaging 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per outing. She shot 33.9 percent from beyond the arc.

A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Burgess moved to the United States prior to her junior year of high school. She attended Riverton (Utah) High School, helping the Silverwolves advance to the quarterfinals of the UHSAA 6A State Tournament each of her two seasons. Burgess was a two-time all-state selection, garnering second-team accolades as a senior and honorable mention as a junior.
