BOISE, Idaho – Former All-American and Team USA member Allie Walljasper (WALL-jass-per) has been named an assistant softball coach at Boise State, head coach Justin Shults announced, Monday.
A four-year pitcher at LSU, Walljasper spent a year as a student assistant with the Tigers and the last two seasons as an assistant coach at North Dakota State.
"Allie is a huge addition to our staff and brings an enormous amount of elite experience," Shults said. "She pitched at the highest level and is a proven winner. I can't wait to see what she can do for our pitching staff."
Walljasper, who will work with the Bronco pitchers, was 64-24 with seven saves and 1.56 ERA in her LSU career. She recorded 22 shutouts and was part of Tiger teams that made three trips to the NCAA Women's College World Series and made another appearance in an NCAA Super Regional.
"I'm honored to become part of the Bronco family and get to live out the Blue and Orange tradition," Walljasper said. "I am super excited about the potential of this program and I am ready to get to work."
Walljasper earned SEC Freshman of the Year in 2015 and was an NFCA Third-Team All-American. The Manteca, Calif., native added a third-team All-America honor in 2017 and was a second-team selection in 2018. She was a four-time NFCA All-South Region pick, two-time All-SEC honoree, four-time All-Louisiana Sportswriters Association (LWSA) selection, and two-time LWSA Pitcher of the Year.
She earned her bachelor's degree in education from LSU in 2018.
