BOISE, Idaho – Joey Benson and Emilia Guerra-Acuña won the Silver Division Championship at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Classic, Saturday.
The duo went 3-0 on the day, including two victories over Bronco teammates. The pair defeated Anika Christensen and Elli Wolthuis in the final match 28-15.
In the Gold Division, Rorianna Chartier and Sierra Land won their first two matches in two quick sets to solidify a spot in the championship. The duo fell to Alex Laita and Ella Tyus (Oregon) 28-20 in the final.
The Broncos finished the day with a combined record of 12-7, with two of the losses coming against teammates. Boise State finished the weekend 22-11.
What's Next
The Broncos will compete at the Collegiate Pairs West Coast Championship in Manhattan Beach, Calif. next weekend. The three-day event will begin Oct. 21.
