
Broncos Fall at UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Boise State volleyball fell in three sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 at UNLV Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West match. The loss moved the Broncos to 13-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play while the Rebels improved to 16-3 and 7-1.

Boise State struggled to find consistency throughout the match and played from behind for most of the contest. The Blue and Orange hit a respectable .303 percent in the second set but had issues in the other two before finishing at .196 percent overall.

Meanwhile, UNLV had a solid outing against the Broncos hitting .371 percent through the three sets, including above .400 percent in the first and third frames.

The Rebels took control early in the first and second sets, while the third was a battle to the end with the Broncos up 16-14 midway. But in the end, it was the Rebels' day in Las Vegas as they snapped the Broncos' three-match win streak against UNLV with the victory.

Bronco Leaders
- Paige Bartsch led the Broncos with a high of 11 kills to record her team-best 16th match with double-figure kills. She also finished with a team-best 11 points.
- Lauren Ohlinger added eight kills, and one block assist to end the contest with 8.5 points.
- Allison Casillas had a team-high nine digs.
- Casillas' nine digs give her a career total of 1,037, six short of tying for 12th place all-time at Boise State.
- Ohlinger's eight kills give her a career total of 1,232, nine short of fifth all-time at Boise State.
- Bartsch has led Boise State in kills 12 times and in points 13 times this season.
- The 3-0 loss is only the second time this year that Boise State has been swept.
- The Broncos still maintain a lead in the overall series with UNLV by a 15-11 margin.
- Boise State will have a split schedule this coming week as it faces the two teams in the league that it will play only once during the regular season.
- The Broncos will travel to Colorado State for a Thursday night encounter at 7 p.m. (Mountain), followed by a home match versus Wyoming at noon on Saturday. Â
