BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Women's Tennis Head Coach Beck Roghaar has announced the addition of Ella Piron to his 2023 recruiting class. Piron will join the Broncos in the fall of 2023.
Piron is a Boise-product who attends Boise High School. A three-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net, Piron ranks as the outlet's No. 1 prospect in Idaho, a top-10 player in the mountain region (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming) and a top-300 recruit in the nation. Piron also excels in the classroom, boasting a 4.0 GPA and earning the teachers' choice award in each of her years at Boise High.
What Coach Roghaar Says: "Ella has tremendous work ethic and drive. Coupled with her fierce competitiveness and never back down mentality, she has a very high ceiling and will see great development in our program. Ella possesses a strong growth and championship mindset. She's aggressive on court and loves to compete. She adds value in so many different aspects and we are really looking forward to all the great things she'll bring in with her."
"Ella has been the top player in Idaho for some time and has established herself among the top 10 elite players in the intermountain as well as proven herself on the national stage. That being said, I feel like she's just starting to see what type of player she can become. We're incredibly excited to be a part of the next steps for her in our program."
What Piron Says: "This means so much to me, it has been my dream since I was 9 years old to play in college. Now that I have the opportunity to represent my hometown playing the sport I love is very special; I am so grateful for this opportunity."
"I am excited to be a part of something bigger than myself, to be surrounded by people who have the same desire to achieve goals as I do, and to be able to support each other and help each other become our best to achieve those goals together."
