Broncos Knocked Off by Cougars

BOISE, Idaho – Freshman Mya Hansen scored a career-high 31 points, but BYU defeated Boise State 76-67, Thursday, in ExtraMile Arena.
Hansen got going early for Boise State (3-5), scoring the first eight Bronco points of the game. She finished the first quarter with 10 points, but a three-point buzzer beater from Nani Falatea gave BYU (3-5) a 20-18 lead. Dani Bayes led the Broncos in the second quarter, scoring eight of her 16 points as Boise State trailed 34-32 at the break.
BYU continued to pound the ball inside in the second half, scoring 16 points in the paint in the third quarter to take a 53-47 lead. The two teams traded baskets early in the fourth, with a Hansen jumper cutting the lead to three with 8:05 remaining. However the Cougars responded with a 10-3 run to put the game out of reach.

- Mya Hansen finished with 31 points, shattering her previous high of seven points. The freshman shot 8-of-15 from the field and hit 4-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc. Hansen also made all 11 of her free throw attempts.
- Freshman Dani Bayes tied her season-high of 16 points. Bayes made four 3-pointers on the night, also tying her season-high.
- Abby Muse recorded a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
