THE MEET
Boise State gymnastics continues its road trip with a visit to Cedar City, Utah, for a contest against MRGC foe and 17th-ranked Southern Utah. The meet will take place Friday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. MT and will be available to stream on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
In their last time out, the Broncos scored 197.000 for the first time since 2019, taking down No. 18 Stanford, No. 19 BYU and Sacramento State in a quad meet-meet hosted by the Cardinal.

The highlight of the afternoon was the Bronco beam team which tied the eighth-highest team score in program history, 49.375. Adriana Popp and Hope Masiado scored a pair of 9.925s, a career-high for both, and Emily Lopez set a career mark with 9.900 to lead the way for Boise State.

On vault, freshman Alyssa Vulaj scored a career-high 9.925 to take home her third-straight individual title in the event. Boise State scored a season-high 49.225 on the apparatus.

On bars Boise State posted five scores of 9.825 or better for the second consecutive week en route to a 49.425. Emily Muhlenhaupt captured her 19th bars title of her career, tying her season-high of 9.950.

The wins improved the Broncos to 5-2 on the year, with four wins coming over top-25 opponents.

WEEKLY AWARDS
Two Broncos heard their names called when the MRGC announced its weekly awards Monday. Stokes earned Bars Specialist of the Week for the second-straight week after her 9.975 performance against Utah State Friday. Vulaj earned her first-career Vault Specialist of the Week honor for her 9.900 on the apparatus against the Aggies.

WHAT THE NUMBERS SAY
With her victory on bars last time out Muhlenhaupt now has 19 in her career, just one shy of tying the program record held by Lindsay Ward.

Boise State dropped out of the top 25 rankings this week due to not having enough competitions to reach the minimum needed for the NQS scoring.

After setting season-highs in each event against Utah State, Friday, the Broncos did so again on beam and vault in Monday's quad meet. Boise State has improved its score on vault ever meet thus far this season.

ABOUT THE THUNDERBIRDS
The Thunderbirds enter the meet 4-6 overall, including a loss to the Broncos in an earlier meeting in Boise.

Last time out Southern Utah scored a 197.000 in a narrow loss to BYU. It was the best score away from home in program history.

The Thunderbirds are ranked 17th nationally and hold the 10th best bars rotation in the country. That rotation is led by Shylen Murakami who ranks tied for 10th in the nation with an average of 9.890.

WHAT'S NEXT
Up next the Broncos will head east for a quad meet hosted by Illinois. There the Broncos will face the Illini, in addition to Central Michigan and Northern Illinois. The meet is set for March 4, beginning at 6 p.m. MT.
