ABOUT UNLV: The Rebels enter the game with a 17-11 record and a 9-6 mark in conference play that has them sitting fifth in the Mountain West standings. Bryce Hamilton leads the way for UNLV on offense, averaging a league-best 21.7 points per game. In the earlier meeting between the two teams Hamilton scored 32 points on 50.0 percent (12-of-24) from the field.
SERIES HISTORY: Boise State leads the all-time series with UNLV 14-10 and have won five of the last six meetings.
DEFENSE TRAVELS: The Broncos have held 15 opponents to fewer than 60 points this season, the most in a single season during the Leon Rice era. Boise State limits opponents to 59.6 points per game, which ranks ninth in the nation. The old adage that defense travels has been true for the Broncos who only allow 58.5 points in games away from Boise.
NOTHING NEW: Tyson Degenhart was named the MW Freshman of the Week for the fifth-straight week and the league-leading eighth time this season. His eight honors are more than the rest of the league's freshmen combined. Degenhart averaged 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in games against Air Force and Utah State, leading the Broncos to a pair of victories this past week to remain a half a game in front of Wyoming for first place in the MW. Degenhart went 7-of-15 from the floor (.467), including 2-for-6 from 3-point range (.333), and was 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He was an efficient 3-of-5 from the floor against Air Force, a game in which Boise State had its best shooting performance in nearly 15 years, shooting 33-of-48 (.688).
