
Broncos Lose Regular Season Finale

BOISE, Idaho – Despite leading for over 31 minutes, Boise State dropped a 68-63 decision to San Jose State, Monday night.
Elodie Lalotte (14 points/11 rebounds) and Abby Muse (12/11) each recorded a double-double for the Broncos (8-20, 4-13 Mountain West).
"We have been in a lot of close games, but we have not done a good job finishing," Boise State Head Coach Gordy Presnell said.
San Jose State (5-24, 2-16) trailed 54-49 before an 11-2 run gave the Spartans a 60-56 lead with 3:35 to play. The Broncos responded with five-straight points and regained the lead at 61-60 with 1:04 remaining on a pair of free throws by Dominique Leonidas, who finished with a team-high 16 points.
A bucket and two free throws put the Spartans in front 64-61 with 29.4 seconds left. Muse sank two shots from the foul line with 18.0 second remaining to pull the Broncos back within 64-63.
Two more San Jose State free throws with 15.4 seconds to play pushed the lead back to three and Anna Ostlie missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer on Boise State's next possession. The Spartans nailed two more free throws to account for the final score.
In the first quarter, Muse scored five-straight points to spark a 15-0 run that included a seven points from Leonidas and put the Broncos on top 19-6.
All five Boise State starters scored in the opening period and the Broncos led 23-13 after 10 minutes of play.
San Jose State used a 15-5 run over a span of nearly six minutes to pull even at 33 before Lalotte's bucket just before the buzzer gave Boise State a 35-33 edge at the break.
In the third quarter, both teams shot under 30 percent from the floor and the Broncos took a 49-46 lead into the final stanza.
Tuesday, Boise State will learn its seed for the Mountain West Championship, which begins March 6 in Las Vegas.
