ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE: The Aztecs are playing in their eighth MW tournament title game in the last nine years. San Diego State hangs its hat on one of the top defenses in the nation that holds opponents to just 57.8 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: San Diego State leads the all-time series 17-9. The Broncos won both matchups in the regular season in which the teams combined to average just 97 points per contest. San Diego State and Boise State have met in the MW Tournament four times, with the Aztecs coming out on top in each occasion.

NEW TO THE SCENE: Boise State is playing in its first conference tournament championship game as members of the Mountain West. The last time the Broncos played in a conference tournament title game was in 2011 when Boise State was a part of the Western Athletic Conference. Boise State has won five conference tournament championships in the history of the program, the most recent coming in 2008 (WAC).

WHAT'S AT STAKE: Boise State is looking to become just the fifth team in MW history to win an outright regular-season conference championship and the MW tournament. San Diego State has done so twice (2006, 2021) and is joined by New Mexico (2013) and Nevada (2017) as the only programs to do so.
