
Broncos Fall to UNLV

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Boise State women's tennis came up on the short side of a 4-1 match to the UNLV Rebels Sunday afternoon at San Diego.Â
Pauline Ernstberger claimed the Broncos' lone point of the match with a victory at No. 1 singles. The sophomore from Germany won her 13th singles match, defeating Molly Helgesson in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.Â
Joana Baptista and Nicole Discenza led the Broncos in doubles, winning on court one 6-4 against Molly Helgesson and Zita Kovacs. The Boise State tandem moved to 7-3 on the year.
UNLV took the early lead taking the team doubles point 2-1 with wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions.Â
The Rebels then clinch the team victory 4-1 with straight-set singles victories on courts four, two, and three. Â
Boise State moved to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in Mountain West play with the loss. The Broncos will continue conference play next week at Reno, Nev., facing Nevada and Utah State.Â
