On Friday, Boise State claimed a 4-3 Mountain West Conference road victory at Nevada.
RENO, Nev. - Pauline Ernstberger's three-set singles victory on court one clinched Boise State a 4-3 Mountain West Conference road victory at Nevada on Friday.
With the team score tied at 3-3, it came down to Ernstberger to secure the win for the Broncos versus the Wolf Pack. The sophomore did not disappoint as she rallied from a set down to beat Anastasia Luneva 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, clinching the team win and her 14th singles victory.
Boise State opened the contest by winning the doubles point with victories on courts two and one, respectively. Holly Stewart and Shauna Heffernan started it off with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles to improve to 8-2 on the year.
Joana Baptista and Nicole Discenza clinched the point when they downed Selina Turulja and Mariana Campino 6-4 at the No. 1 position. The Bronco tandem is now 8-3 this season.
The Broncos added singles victories on courts three, six, and one to claim the match. Stewart gave the Blue and Orange a 2-0 advantage with a quick two-set 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles, her 16th victory.
Then after Nevada rallied to tie the team score at 2-2, Heffernan put Boise State back in front with a straight-set 6-4, 6-3 win on court six.
The Wolf Pack rallied again, taking No. 2 singles to even the score at 3-3, setting up Ernstberger for the clinching win.
Boise State will be back in action Saturday afternoon when the Broncos face the Utah State Aggies in Reno.
