Beach Volleyball Named to USMC/AVCA Academic Honor Roll

This is the second-consecutive year that the Broncos have made the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll.
BOISE, Idaho - The United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Monday their team academic honors for the 2021-22 year. For the fourth-straight year, the program has earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award and for the second-consecutive year, they have made the USMC/AVCA Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes squads that finished in the top 20 percent of teams nationally.

The 15 members on the 2021-22 Boise State roster combined for a 3.738 team GPA and are one of 34 NCAA Division I schools to earn the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award and one of 13 to make the Honor Roll.Â
The USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award is given on an annual basis to programs based on the team's cumulative grade point average (GPA) for a single year. This is the four-straight year and fifth time in the last six that the Broncos have earned this accolade.
The AVCA award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
