
Max Rice Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Boise State men's basketball player Max Rice was named to the 2021-22 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for his excellence in the classroom, the organization announced, Tuesday.
The Honors Court recognized men's collegiate basketball student-athletes in all NCAA divisions and the NAIA who excelled in academics during the past season. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must meet the following qualifications:
Rice, who played a key role in the Broncos' historic 2021-22 season, posted 3.57 GPA this past year. Rice is working toward a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies.
Since the inception of the award in 2007, Boise State men's basketball has combined for 17 honors from 12 different student-athletes. 14 of the 17 awards have come during Leon Rice's tenure as head coach.

Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. - Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
