TYLER, Texas – Boise State wide receiver Stefan Cobbs was named to the 2022 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, it was announced Tuesday.

The accolade recognizes the college offensive player of the year who meets the award criteria. It encourages student-athletes to succeed on and off the field while having the drive and tenacity to persist and overcome adversity and injury in the pursuit of reaching their goals. The award honors the legacy of Texas legend Earl Campbell and recognizes his home community of Tyler, Texas.

To be considered, the offensive player must meet one or more of the following criteria: 1. Born in Texas; 2. Graduated from a Texas high school; or 3. Played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college. The player must also exhibit the enduring characteristics that defined Earl Campbell, including integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, community and tenacity.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Cobbs started eight of the nine games in which he appeared in 2021, finishing second among Boise State receivers in yards receiving (421) and touchdowns (five) and tied for second in receptions (34).

He registered his first-career game with 100-plus yards receiving against Nevada (Oct. 2), finishing with a career-high 10 receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is Cobb's second preseason watch list nod this season. He is also a candidate for the Paul Hornung Award.

The watch list will be narrowed down to 16 semifinalists in November and five finalists in December.
