COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Hayden Wilsey and Jocelyn Stephens claimed all three of the weekly Mountain West women's soccer awards, the conference announced Monday afternoon. The duo helped the Broncos to a 1-0-1 record with a draw at UC Davis (Sept. 8) and a victory over CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 11).
Wilsey was named the Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week while also picking up her first-career Offensive Player of the Week honor. The Boise native came off the bench against the Roadrunners to score two goals in a three-minute span, helping lift the Broncos to a 5-1 rout on the road, Sunday.
Stephens earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring a Boise State defense that allowed just 1.5 goals per match this past week, playing 165 total minutes. This is the second time the junior has earned the honor in her career.
The Broncos return to Boise this week after four-straight matches on the road. Boise State takes on Montana Thursday (Sept. 15) before hosting Eastern Washington for senior night Sunday (Sept. 18). Tickets can be purchased in advance on BroncoSports.com.
