UNLV Tops Boise State

LAS VEGAS – UNLV defeated Boise State 73-61, Monday, in Cox Pavilion.
 
Abby Muse started things early for the Broncos (7-11, 2-3 MW), scoring eight points on 4-of-5 shooting in the first quarter. Mary Kay Naro was also a key contributor early, dishing out four assists in the opening period and hitting a deep three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Broncos a 21-16 lead.
 
The Lady Rebels (17-2, 7-0)  didn't back down, opening the second quarter on a 10-0 run to retake the lead. Dani Bayes stopped the bleeding with a 3-pointer midway through the period to cut the lead to 26-24. The teams struggled to score late in the quarter, combining for only seven points as the Broncos trailed 30-27 at halftime.   
 
UNLV came out hot out of the break, shooting 55.6% from the field and draining five 3-pointers in the third quarter. The Lady Rebels ended the quarter on a 19-2 run to take a 60-43 lead into the final period. Elodie Lalotte did her best to bring the Broncos back, scoring six points in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter as Boise State cut the deficit to 12, but it wasn't enough as UNLV prevailed 73-61. 

Top Broncos

Elodie Lalotte recorded her 12th career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The junior forward shot 9-of-12 from the floor.
- Abby Muse shot 6-of-12 from the field to finish with 12 points. Muse also pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
- Mary Kay Naro dished out a team-high six assists.

Notables

- Mary Kay Naro entered the Top 10 in program history in career assists. The junior guard, who entered the game 12th all-time, now sits ninth with 287 assists.  
- Abby Muse recorded two blocks during the game, marking the seventh straight game Muse has recorded two or more blocks in a game.
- Boise State outrebounded UNLV 41-27 on the night. The Broncos have outrebounded opponents in four of the team's five conference games.  

What's Next

The Broncos will return home for a matchup against Fresno State, Thursday. The game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. MT in ExtraMile Arena.
