Green and McAlister Named to Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Honorable Mention List

TYLER, Texas – Boise State quarterback Taylen Green and wide receiver Eric McAlister were named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mention list, the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler announced.

Green accounted for 75 passing yards and 40 rushing yards in Boise State's 35-27 win over San Jose State. The redshirt sophomore ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, helping the Broncos rally from a 20-point deficit. His second rushing touchdown gave Boise State the lead for the first time that night, while his passing touchdown to Riley Smith put the finishing touches on a 28-0 Bronco run.

McAlister totaled 170 receiving yards on five catches, including a career-long 83-yard touchdown reception. The redshirt sophomore made a leaping catch on the sideline, then evaded defenders as he scored Boise State's first touchdown of the night. He totaled 126 receiving yards in the first half, the most yards a Bronco has had in a conference game since Thomas Sperbeck had 198 against New Mexico on Oct. 7, 2016.

This is the first time this season the Broncos have had multiple players named to the Honorable Mention list in the same week. McAlister was previously recognized on Sept. 19, while sophomore running back Ashton Jeanty garnered recognition on Sept. 26.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year D1 Texas college. Green is a native of Lewisville, Texas. McAlister hails from Azle, Texas.
