
Five Broncos Earn All-Conference Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Five Broncos earned all-conference honors, Sunday morning. Junior Kenzie MacMillan and senior Jocelyn Stephens were named to the All-Mountain West first team, while junior Carly Cross and senior Morgan Padour received All-MW Second Team honors. Freshman Cindy Conner represented the Blue and Orange on the MW All-Newcomer Team.

MacMillan earned the postseason honor after starting all 11 matches, while tallying six goals, three of which were game-winners, and three assists, ending MW play with 15 points. The forward led the MW in shots (53) and shots per game (4.82) and was tied for second in goals (6) and goals per game (0.55) in conference play. MacMillan was named Offensive Player of the Week twice during MW play (Sept. 25-Oct. 1, Oct. 9-15).

Stephens received first team honors after starting all conference matches, having played the full 990 minutes in MW play. The defender led the Broncos' defensive line that allowed only nine goals during conference play, ranking second in the MW in goals allowed and goals against average (0.82).

Cross earned a spot on the second team after starting all 11 contests in MW play, scoring four goals and collecting three assists, finishing with 11 points. The forward finished conference play second in shots (38) and shots per game (3.45).

Padour earned all-conference second team honors after starting every conference match, while recording five points off of five assists for the Broncos, three of which led to game-winning goals. The midfielder was tied for first in conference play for assists.

Conner represented the Blue and Orange on the all-newcomer team after appearing in 11 matches and starting nine. The forward registered three goals and two assists in conference play, finishing with eight points. She was only the third Bronco to have netted multiple goals in conference play, behind only Carly Cross (4) and Kenzie MacMillan (6).

Each Bronco who earned a postseason honor this year did so for the first time in their respective careers, except for MacMillan who was on the MW All-Newcomer Team in 2021 and Stephens who was on the All-MW First Team in 2022.

After finishing third in conference play, the Broncos will now face Nevada in the opening round of the 2023 MW Soccer Championship on Sunday at 11 a.m. MT in Laramie, Wyo.
