Eric McAlister Added to Biletnikoff Award Midseason Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation has announced the addition of Boise State redshirt sophomore Eric McAlister to the midseason watch list for the 2023 Biletnikoff Award, presented to the most outstanding receiver in the FBS.
McAlister has collected 39 receptions for 788 yards and five touchdowns this season. He is tied for first in the FBS with 11 contested catches and ranks 10th nationally in receiving yards per game (98.5). His total of 788 receiving yards is 11th in the country and second in the Mountain West. He leads the MW in yards per reception (20.2), which places him 10th in the nation.
McAlister was named MW Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after his seven-reception, 160-yard effort against Wyoming. This was his third 100-yard game of the season. His first came against North Dakota on Sept. 16, when he recorded 143 yards and two touchdowns in Boise State's first win of the season. On Oct. 7, he had a career-high 170 yards on just five catches, logging the fourth-best yards per reception average in school history at 34.0. This included a career-long 83-yard touchdown, helping the Broncos to a comeback win over San Jose State.
A product of Azle High School in Azle, Texas, McAlister is the first Bronco to land on the Biletnikoff Award watch list since Khalil Shakir in 2020. He has also been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Honorable Mention list three times this season.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.
