Broncos Gear up for Final Weekend of Fall Season

WHAT'S NEXT

Boise State will compete in its final weekend of fall competition with two separate events. Marlayna Bullington and Lily Patock will represent the Broncos at the AVCA Collegiate Beach Championships in Huntsville, Ala., while the remainder of the roster will compete at the Lopes Invitational, hosted by Grand Canyon.

AVCA FORMAT

Bullington and Patock are one of 64 pairs across the nation that will make their way to John Hunt Park for the three-day event. The national event will consist of 16 pools of four pairs, with pool play taking place on Friday. The top two seeds from each pool will advance to the championship bracket while the bottom two pairs will advance to the consolation bracket.

AVCA SEEDING

The duo earned a No. 57 seed and will start their day off at 8 a.m. MT with a match against No. 8 Ashleigh Adams and Julie Honzovicova (Florida Atlantic), followed by a match against No. 25 Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock (Washington) at 11 a.m. MT. The duo will play their final match against No. 40 Mackenzie Martin and Selma Robinson (North Alabama) at 2 p.m. MT.

LOPES INVITATIONAL FORMAT

The Broncos will compete against pairs from Arizona, Arizona State and Grand Canyon at the two-day event. The Lopes Invitational will consist of two different tournaments on each day. Each tournament will feature four divisions, with two pools per division. Each pair will play three matches of pool play before concluding each day with bracket play.

LAST TIME OUT

Two Bronco duos reached the championship match of their respective brackets at the Relentless Collegiate Challenge in Huntington Beach, Calif. Bullington and Patock finished second in the Copper Playoffs of the AVCA Bid Division while Summer McCann and Abbie Wolf reached the final of the Gold Playoffs of the A Division.
