Former Bronco quarterback Jared Zabransky returns to The Blue

BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State quarterback and 2007 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Offensive Most Valuable Player Jared Zabransky returns to The Blue to raise the Blue Chaos Flag prior to Friday's kickoff against Air Force.

Zabransky, the starting quarterback for back-to-back Western Athletic Conference Championships in 2005 and 2006, remains one of the most top quarterbacks in Boise State history. In all, Zabransky graduated from Boise State with four WAC Championships, two bowl titles and a pair of All-WAC honors, all while leading the Broncos to a 45-6 overall record (31-1 in WAC play) over the course of his four years.

He went on to become a Hula Bowl selection and played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League following his standout career in the Orange and Blue. Zabransky still has the fourth-longest run in school history as he sprinted 85 yards for a touchdown against Hawai'i on Oct. 29, 2004.

Zabransky's name remains scattered throughout the Boise State record book, ranking sixth in career pass completions (610), passing yards (8,256) and total offense (9,119), eighth in career completion percentage (.622) and ninth in career passing efficiency (144.9). His 21-for-23 passing performance against Utah State on Nov. 18, 2006 remains the second-best single game completion percentage (.913) in school history.

Joining the team for practice on Wednesday, Zabransky explained to the team that the Brotherhood doesn't go away once you graduate.

"We Bleed Blue, always," Zabransky said. "We follow everything you do. This program's entire alumni base is so proud of you and the way you've turned this thing around. Play fast, leave it all out on that field and beat Air Force!"

Zabransky is scheduled to raise the Blue Chaos Flag just moments before the 2:10 p.m. kickoff at Albertsons Stadium.
