ORLANDO, Fla. – A series of Butler runs on either end of halftime was enough to defeat Boise State in the fifth-place game of the ESPN Events Invitational, Sunday at the State Farm Field House.

The Bulldogs ended the first half on a 17-4 run, and after the Broncos (3-3) pulled within three points on a Jace Whiting 3-pointer in the first two minutes of the second half – Butler (5-2) responded with a 14-point run to go up double digits.

Boise State was 1-of-11 from the field in that stretch and ended the game shooting 32.3-percent.

Tyson Degenhart scored a game-high 12 points, collecting seven boards and two steals.
Jace Whiting added nine points, going 2-2 from beyond the arc, five rebounds and three assists.
O'Mar Stanley contributed eight points, six rebounds and two blocks off the bench.
