NOTES
Week Eight of Conference Play
- Boise State (11-13, 7-7 MW) opens the week with a Monday afternoon encounter at league-leading Utah State (20-5, 13-1 MW), first serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (Mountain) in Logan, Utah.
- The Broncos will close out their home schedule on Saturday when the San Jose State Spartans (12-15, 3-11 MW) come to town for Senior Day, tip is scheduled for noon (Mountain) in Bronco Gym. Â Â
- The Broncos entered the week in a three-way tie with Air Force and UNLV for fifth place in the league standings; Utah State currently leads the league while San Jose State is tied for 10th.
- This week's action will feature some of the top attackers in the Mountain West in Boise State's Paige Bartsch leading the league and ranked fourth nationally in kills per set at 4.99 on the year; USU is led by Shelby Capllonch in eighth at 3.12 kps, while SJSU is led by Nayelli Ti'a averaging 2.72 kps.

The Broncos
- The Broncos are looking to get back on track and snap a four-match losing streak; the last two at home this past week falling 3-1 to New Mexico and 3-0 to Air Force. Â
- Last week, Paige Bartsch led Boise State, combining for 49 kills, 16 digs, four blocks and 51.5 points. Â
- The MW coaches picked the Broncos to place sixth out of 11 teams in the 2023 league race.
Bartsch, One of a Kind
- Paige Bartsch leads the MW and is ranked in the top 10 nationally in five categories: second for points per set (5.71), fourth for kills per set (4.89), sixth for total points (485), sixth for attacks per set (12.60) and seventh for kills (416).
Other Notable Rankings (All Matches)
- Setter Noelani Helm is ranked fourth in the conference for assists per set at 8.70 and sixth in total assists with 766.
- Sophomore libero Breanna Mitchell is fourth in the MW for digs per set at 3.82, seventh for total digs with 336, sixth for service aces per set at 0.35, and tied for sixth in total aces at 31.
The Utah State Aggies
- The Aggies enter the week at 20-5 overall and 13-1 in the conference, good for first place.
- Utah State is coming off a home sweep last week, defeating Air Force and New Mexico by 3-0 scores.
- The league's coaches picked USU to tie for the conference championship.
- Monday's meeting will be the 52nd all-time in a series that Boise State leads 29-22 overall, the Aggies lead 13-7 in contests played at Logan.
- USU won the first meeting of the year in Boise (Oct. 10) 3-1. Â
The San Jose State Spartans
- SJSU enters the week at 12-15 overall and 3-11 in the conference, tied for 10th place.
- The Spartans are coming off a pair of home defeats, falling 3-2 to Colorado State and 3-1 to Wyoming.
- The league's coaches picked San Jose State to place eighth during the 2023 conference race.
- Saturday's meeting will be the 46th all-time in a series that the Broncos lead 23-22 overall, the series is tied 10-10 in matches played at Boise.
- The Broncos defeated the Spartans (Oct.12) 3-0 earlier this year in San Jose.    Â
