Broncos Top Century Mark in Win Over Western Oregon

12/9/2023 4:51:00 PM | Men's Basketball

BOISE, Idaho – A 13-0 run for Boise State men's basketball shortly after the first media timeout of the second half gave the Broncos a 20-point lead they never relinquished in a 109-70 win over Western Oregon, Saturday at ExtraMile Arena.

Max Rice (28), Chibuzo Agbo (24) and Tyson Degenhart (18) combined for 70 points as Boise State (6-3) eclipsed the century mark for the first time since Dec. 31, 2020. Rice and Agbo each made six 3-pointers – the first time since at least 2010-11 that two players have made six 3-pointers in the same game.

All fourteen Broncos not redshirting appeared in the game as Boise State had 26 assists.

The Wolves (3-5) made 12 3-pointers on the afternoon.

Quotables
  • "When Max starts hitting threes it makes things so much easier for me," said Chibuzo Agbo. "We knew he (Max) was going to keep going so we kept moving the ball while he was hot."
  • "The things our guards are getting better at is when a guy is hitting his shots, it's their job to find him another easy look," said head coach Leon Rice. "That's what our young guards are getting better at, and it allows those two (Agbo and Rice) to keep going."

  • The Broncos are 55-7 at home since the start of the 2019-20 season.
