Hedman, Knight, O'Connor grab wins
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Boise State men's golf picked up victories from Gavyn Knight, Nick Hedman and Will O'Connor at the Wyoming World Match Play this week.
The freshman Knight opened the tournament with a victory at the No. 4 spot in the quarterfinal match against San Francisco, 1&2, as the Broncos fell 5-1 against the third-seeded Dons.
In the consolation round against Wichita State, Hedman picked up the victory in the No. 6 spot (Up 1 through 16) while Cole Rueck and Drew Reinke drew were tied at the match conclusion as the Broncos fell 3-1-2 to the Shockers.
O'Connor grabbed the final Boise State victory in the final consolation round against South Dakota State, 4&2, to conclude the series opening victory.
The Broncos continue its spring season next month at the Bandon Dunes Classic in Bandon, Ore., March 13-14.
