BOISE, Idaho – Boise State raised its season-best score for the fourth time in as many meets, defeating Utah State, 196.325-195.675, Friday night at ExtraMile Arena. Trailing 147.325-147.075, the Broncos tallied their highest score of the season on floor to clinch their first victory of 2023.
Boise State achieved a score of 49.250 on floor, surpassing the 49.000 barrier for the first time this year. Sophomores Emma Loyim (9.925) and Elaina McGovern (9.875) led the comeback. Loyim and freshman Brantley Lucas (9.850) earned career-best marks.
The Broncos kicked off the night on vault, capturing a 49.400, the team's highest score on any apparatus this season. The trio of senior Adriana Popp (9.950), and juniors Emily Lopez (9.925) and Courtney Blackson (9.900) swept the event.
For a second-consecutive meet, Blackson and Lopez were the top-two performers on bars, earning a 9.925 and 9.900, respectively.
