LOGAN, Utah – Boise State led Utah State following the first rotation and never relinquished the top spot, defeating the Aggies for a second-consecutive meet, 196.075-193.325, Friday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Boise State took advantage of a pair of falls by Utah State on bars, jumping out to a 97.950-96.000 lead through two rotations and was up by a staggering 2.200 points (147.125-144.925) with one event remaining.
The Broncos accounted for the top-two spots on the leaderboard in each of the four events.
Junior Courtney Blackson captured individual titles on both vault (9.875) and floor (9.900). Senior Adriana Popp took second on vault (9.850) and freshman Sydney Leitch finished behind Blackson on floor (9.850).
Junior Emily Lopez secured the victory on bars with an impressive 9.950, the highest score across all four events. The mark was a season best and tied her career-high performance. Blackson garnered silver on the apparatus (9.900).
On beam, sophomore Emma Loyim and Popp tied for first place, collecting scores of 9.850.
