PROVO, Utah – Boise State women's tennis claimed the doubles point but ultimately fell to BYU 6-1 on the road, Friday afternoon, to close out nonconference play.
In doubles the Broncos' (7-4) pairing of Holly Stewart and Joana Baptista took a quick 6-2 victory on court two before the Cougars (6-3) took back a match on court three. At the No. 1 position Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo came back to force a tiebreaker, which they won 8-6 to give Boise State the doubles point.
BYU clawed its way back in singles play, winning the courts one through four to jump back in front of Boise State 4-1 and clinch the match outright.

Mountain West play begins for the Broncos as they travel for a pair of matches in Reno, Nev. Boise State faces Nevada on Saturday, March 25, before taking on San Jose State the following day.
