LAS VEGAS – Boise State softball recorded a 10-0 mercy-rule victory in five innings against UNLV, Saturday afternoon.
 
The Broncos (14-10, 2-0 Mountain West) blanked the Rebels (14-13, 0-2) as Taylor Caudill (5-5) allowed just three hits to earn the shutout.
 
Boise State scored first off a bases loaded walk from Eliyah Flores in the first inning. Kelsey Hall followed with a three-run double to give the Blue and Orange a 4-0 lead.
 
The Broncos extended their lead to 7-0, thanks to a two-run homer by Hall and an RBI-double from Autumn Bennett in the top of the fourth.
 
An RBI-ground out by Jordyn Hutchins, home run from Flores and an RBI-single from Bennett secured the win for Boise State.

  • It was a big day for our team and once again a total team effort," said head coach Justin Shults. "Kelsey [Hall] had a big day at the plate and Taylor [Caudill] set the tone for us in the circle. We need to bring the same energy and intent tomorrow."
