BOISE, Idaho. – The Boise State women's tennis team kept the matches close but was ultimately knocked off by Wyoming, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at the Appleton Tennis Center

Lorelyz Marruffo took home her match on singles court two by defeating Maria Oreshkina, 7-6(4), 3-6, to notch the Broncos (9-9, 2-5 MW) a point in the overall score. The Cowgirls (11-9, 6-1 MW) raced out to a 3-0 lead by winning the doubles point and singles courts three and four. After Marruffo took one back for Boise State, Wyoming's Ana Fernandez took the third set of her court-five match to seal the victory for the visiting team.

"Hats off to Wyoming they did a nice job of playing well in tough moments of the matches," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "We saw some good things from our team today. We competed well and came back in some matches where we dropped the first set which is a big positive that we needed to see from ourselves. We're going to come back tomorrow and throw the kitchen sink at Colorado State and be ready to go."

Lorelyz Marruffo went 2-0 on the day, winning her No. 1 doubles match with Nicole Discenza before taking a victory at the No. 2 singles position.
