Boise State will play in consolation final on Sunday
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Boise State lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 3-0 in the winners' bracket final of the Southland Conference Championship, Saturday. The loss moves the Broncos (24-9) to the consolation bracket final where they will play an elimination dual for a chance of a rematch against the Islanders (23-9) in the championship.

The showdown started off in dramatic fashion as both matches in the first flight went to three sets. On court No. 4, Kaylee Mejia and Elli Wolthuis stormed back to force a third set after dropping the first. Tied at 14 in the final set, the pair lost the next two points as the Islanders secured their first point. Benson and Vetter also reached 14-14 in the third set at the No. 5 position, but also lost as the Broncos fell behind 2-0.

Boise State didn't back down, winning the first set at the No. 2 and No. 3 position. Ava Anderson and Anika Christensen were a point away from securing a point from the No. 2 court, but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's top pair clinched the final point to advance to the championship.
