Six Broncos Garner NFCA All-Region Honors

BOISE, Idaho – Six Boise State student-athletes were tabbed All-Pacific Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Thursday.
Senior Kelsey Hall led the Broncos with a first-team honor at the designated player spot. Hall was the Mountain West Player of the Year and an All-MW first-team honoree. She batted .385 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs, 52 RBI, 39 runs, and a slugging percentage of .854 on the season. This marks the second NFCA All-Pacific Region first-team honor of Hall's career.
Sophomore Mykenzie Hanna (outfield) and redshirt senior Serena Huchingson (catcher) received second-team all-region accolades.
Hanna batted .357 in 143 at bats this season with 10 doubles, 10 home runs, 30 RBI, and a slugging percentage of .650.
Huchingson was a member of the All-MW Second Team. She finished the season third overall in runs scored (49), tied for second in hit by pitch (11), and eighth in putouts (233) in conference.
Senior Autumn Bennett (third baseman) and juniors Taylor Caudill (pitcher) and Jordyn Hutchins (outfield) each earned third-team all-region honors.
Caudill received All-MW first-team recognition, ranking among the leaders of the MW in wins (second, 15), innings pitched (second, 154 2/3), strikeouts (third, 147), games started (third, 24), ERA (fourth, 2.72), appearances (fifth, 33), and saves (tied-sixth, 2).
Bennett and Hutchins each earned a spot on the All-MW Second Team. Bennett finished fourth in on-base percentage (.477) and seventh in batting average (.377) overall in the MW, while Hutchins ranked fourth in slugging percentage (.646) and tied for sixth in home runs (11).
The six selections for Boise State were more than the rest of the Mountain West schools combined.
The Broncos went 32-17 overall and 16-5 in conference, winning the regular season title for the second time in program history.
