FRISCO, Texas – Four Boise State beach volleyball student-athletes were named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team, the league announced Thursday. The Broncos led the conference with four honorees.Â
Joey Benson, Rorianna Chartier, Emilia Guerra-Acuña and Kaylee Mejia were recognized for both their academic and athletic performances. Â
To qualify for the SLC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must possess at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have completed one full academic year at the institution. The Buckeye, Ariz. native won 23 duals on the year, breaking the program record for the most wins in a season. Benson and her partner Aris Vetter were named the top No. 5 pair in the league, garnering first-team all-conference honors.
A native of Edmond, Okla., Chartier (3.67, biology) played in 33 matches on the season, finishing with an 18-15 record. Chartier and her partner Ava Anderson were named the SLC Pair of the Week on March 7.
