Venardos Honored by AVCA, Named to Thirty Under 30 Beach Class

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Assistant Beach Volleyball Coach Alex Venardos has been named to the 2023 class of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 Beach honorees.

Venardos just completed his fourth season as an assistant coach to the Boise State beach volleyball team. In his current position, he is involved in all aspects of the program, from helping with day-to-day operations, developing drills, running practices, travel, scouting and recruiting.

He has helped guide the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons going 20-9 in 2022 and 25-10 in 2023.

Outside of Boise State, Venardos created the Idaho Beach Volleyball Club, Idaho's first beach-only club, where he has served as the club director since its inception.

"I want to continue to develop the volleyball community as a whole in Boise. Boise State's beach team has been successful and gained a local following. From there, having players and coaches from the program engage the community has allowed our athletes to grow as leaders, find their voices as player-coaches, and make connections that will open doors and last a lifetime." – Alex Venardos
The AVCA annually recognizes rising stars among the beach volleyball coaching ranks by naming them Thirty Under 30 Beach honorees. These coaches are hard-working and passionate about teaching, and they are dedicated to helping grow the sport of beach volleyball.

Thirty Under 30 Beach honors up-and-coming coaches at all levels of beach volleyball, and the recipients serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director.

To qualify for the award, nominees had to be under 30 as of Dec. 31, 2022. This new group of Thirty Under 30 Beach coaches joins two previous classes of honorees.
