PHOENIX – The Boise State women's tennis program has been named the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Community Service Award Honorable Mention for the Mountain Region. The Broncos were selected from a pool of 21 programs which included teams from the Big Sky, Conference USA, Mountain West, Pac-12, Summit League, West Coast Conference and Western Atlantic Conference.

"We're proud and honored to be able to serve Boise State and the Boise community," head coach Beck Roghaar said. "Serving others is such a key part of success in life and having the opportunity to do that with the people that support us and the university so much is amazing. We're just so incredibly proud."

The team recorded 119 hours of community service throughout the Boise community last year. The Broncos served many local organizations, including the Boise State Food Pantry, Idaho Arts Charter, Make-A-Wish, Rake up Boise, Owyhee High School, Whittier Elementary School and undertook several projects in the Boise State athletic department.

Every year the ITA recognizes coaches and players for their excellence on the court and in their
communities throughout the season. This is the third time in the last four years in which the Boise State women's tennis program has been honored by the ITA for community service. The Broncos won the award in back-to-back years in 2020 and 2021.

"We're incredibly blessed and fortunate to be in the community that we are in here at Boise State," Roghaar said. "The support around us and the people around our program and in this community, they're a key ingredient to what this whole experience and opportunity is all about for our student-athletes."
